The Arch Company

ABOUT US

The Arch Company has over 5,200 properties across England and Wales – with railway arches a significant part of this. The businesses that call these spaces home form an incredible, diverse network. They include bakeries, breweries, butchers, restaurants, beauty salons, wellness spaces, workshops and mechanics.

With two thirds of the properties in London, the spaces are also concentrated in other metropolitan centres like Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Newcastle, and Bristol. The spaces are typically based in the heart of communities, and over two thirds are small businesses.

The Arch Company is investing in the estate. A £200 million development scheme, Project 1000 , is a commitment to create new space for 1,000 businesses by 2030. This will bring 5,000 jobs to local communities and add to the estimated 25,000 people already employed in arch businesses across England and Wales.

In addition to the development plans, The Arch Company encourages members of the public to celebrate railway arches via #loveyourlocalarches on their social media channels. This culminates with an annual celebration – ARCH DAY – which is a summer event inviting the customers to throw their doors open to local communities and host special events, activities or offers.

To support this further, The Arch Company provides match-funding grants to support customer activity. This is independently reviewed and allocated by community action charity Groundwork London. For more information about ARCH DAY, please visit The Arch Company website.
